The Trinity Multi Academy Trust (Trinity MAT) family

Trinity Academy Leeds will join our family of academies.

Trinity Academy Halifax

Trinity Academy Sowerby BridgeFrom the very start, expectations at Trinity Academy Halifax were set high. This Church of England academy welcomed students of all faiths and none, inspiring everyone with its core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, rather than religious doctrine.

Leaders and staff aspired to excellence for every student, with an emphasis on high quality teaching and a clear behaviour policy that enables calm classrooms and excellent learning.

In just three years, the Academy had transformed behaviour, teaching and learning, along with the future prospects of its students.

An Ofsted inspection 2013 declared Trinity Academy Halifax to be outstanding in every area – student achievement, quality of teaching, safety and behaviour, leadership, management and overall effectiveness.

Trinity Academy Sowerby BridgeSowerby Bridge High School became Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge (TASB) in September 2017, heralding a new and exciting journey for the school and its local community.

In 2016, Ofsted had graded the school as ‘inadequate’ and it ranked in the lowest 15% of all UK schools. On joining Trinity MAT, standards changed rapidly.

After just two years, the Academy stands proudly in the top 1% of the most improved schools in the country.

Trinity Academy CathedralIn 2015, the former Cathedral School in Wakefield was failing both financially and educationally. Trinity MAT reached out to the school with help and support in 2016, and in 2017, Cathedral School joined the trust as Cathedral Academy.

The results were astonishing: by 2018, Cathedral School had progressed from failure to the TES 2019 Secondary School of the Year!

The school is now named Trinity Academy Cathedral to be in line with other MAT schools.

Trinity Academy AkroydonAkroydon was the first primary school to join Trinity MAT. Catering for children from nursery age to 10, the school’s results were poor and it needed a new direction.

Akroydon became part of the Trust in 2017 and, inspired by the Trust’s vision and approach, the hard work soon brought results. In 2019, Akroydon Primary Academy was named as Calderdale’s Most Improved School. From January 2021 the school name changed to Trinity Academy Akroydon to be in line with other MAT schools.
