Home Learning
Home Learning at Trinity Academy Leeds is simple, powerful, and meaningful. Every day, every student completes an hour and a half of home learning after the school day. They also complete half an hour revising a set section of their Knowledge Organiser, half an hour reading their challenging library book and half an hour completing set tasks on Hegarty Maths. Home learning at TAL supports all students in developing core skills in literacy and numeracy while also learning the key components of knowledge from their academic curriculum.
Shine Project
In addition to their daily home learning, students also complete an independent Shine Project each term. The topic of the Shine Project is linked to our class reader in DEAR and challenges our young people to explore their hopes, dreams, role models and our TAL Core Values.
Check out the results of our most recent Shine Project below in our online showcase. Students were inspired by the novel ‘Kick’ by Mitch Johnson into exploring the life of a person who inspires them. Students completed five tasks and were encouraged to be as creative as possible. We are very proud of all their efforts and several students were awarded Shine badges for outstanding work
