Pastoral Care

At Trinity Academy Leeds, there is an extensive network of experienced pastoral support on offer for students. We understand that when students feel settled and secure, they will go on to feel happier and achieve more.  The academy’s pastoral system – or the network of support we provide to students and parents – is a real strength and forms the basis of all that we do. As a staff team, we have a ‘my own child rule.’ The care we provide for students should be the same level of care we would expect for our own children.

When students arrive on their first day at Trinity Academy Leeds they are placed in a team. The power of teamship is important to all of us, with each team having a Latin mantra, Team Ambassador and a staff Team Leader. The Team Leader ensures that all students in their team feel valued and supported. The Team Leader is also the first point of contact for parents and carers who need to communicate with the academy. Each Team elects a Team Ambassador who supports members of their team and works with Team Leaders to deliver key inputs during Team Time.

In each year group there is a Phase Leader, a Head of Year and Team Leaders. Working alongside each team, there are key members of pastoral staff who offer support and guidance to students throughout their time with us.

Take a look below to meet the team!

Mrs O'Hanlon

KS4 Phase Leader

I will ensure you have the best Key Stage 4 provision which will enable you to Reach Higher, See Further and Shine Brighter as TAL students and in life beyond school. Attainment, conduct and attendance are three particular areas I will work with you to succeed in across Years 10 and Year 11.

As Key Stage 4 Phase Leader I have oversight of Years 10 and 11. My role is to drive and maintain standards across the two year groups and coordinate pastoral support alongside Mr Brown and our team of Student Liaison Officers. Your child's Head of Year is your first port of call for queries, but I am also available to parents and students alike. To achieve success at Trinity Academy Leeds we ask that students are in every day, and meeting our conduct expectations at all times. This is a crucial time in our young people's academic journey, and lives, as their results can open or close doors in the future. To ensure success we ask that families work closely with us and support us with regard to conduct, attendance, and home learning. In Key Stage 4 your child is likely to be required to attend Prep+ at points throughout the two years. They are also expected to complete daily home learning and additional revision. Both are compulsory and are monitored closely. At Trinity Academy Leeds we provide the blueprint to a successful future, we are glad to have you on our journey with us. Together, we can ensure your children go on to be wonderful people who achieve great things.

Ms Kay
